Simple, Quick and Delicious Focaccia

Simple, Quick and Delicious Focaccia

Hello Sili Fam! It's been a while since my last blog post but I'm back and want to share my current food obsession... this super easy and tasty focaccia recipe which you must try!

Ingredients:

· 120g plain flour

· 1/2 tsp salt

· 1 tsp instant yeast

· 1 1/4 tsp sugar

· 10g olive oil

· 90ml lukewarm water

· Toppings of your choice (I used salt flakes and fresh rosemary)

Method:
1. Combine flour, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix

2. Add water to the centre of the mix and sprinkle yeast on top - let sit for 60 seconds

3. Add oil and slowly mix with fork to combine

4. With a spatula, begin folding the dough until all the ingredients are combined (the dough is meant to be very sticky so don't worry!)

5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes

6. Wet your hands and begin folding the dough until it feels like it has become tighter (continue to wet hands as required so the dough does not stick to you)

7. Cover the dough and let it rest for another 15 minutes

8. Fold the dough again for another minute or so (it will still be quite sticky but should look more shaped now)

9. Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to a small baking tin (click here for our Sili Rectangle Lunch Boxes which are the perfect size for this focaccia recipe!)

10. Transfer the dough into the baking tin and with oiled fingers slowly spread the dough out

11. Cover and let rise for 1 hour

12. After an hour, spread the dough out again so it reaches the edges of the tin and with your fingers create indents in the dough

13. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes in a warm place

14. While the dough is rising, preheat oven to 200ºc

15. Once 30 minutes has passed, drizzle olive oil over your dough and add your toppings

16. Place in oven for 20 minutes or until golden on top

17. Let the focaccia sit and cool for 10 minutes before removing

I hope you enjoy this recipe just as much as I do and I can't wait to see all your different creations! Make sure to tag @silihomeco in your stories and posts so we can see all your delicious focaccias!
